Parent Focus Group
Thank you for your interest in helping us improve Sprout.
We're inviting parents and their children to participate in a user experience (UX) focus group where we'll observe how families naturally use the Sprout app.
There are no right or wrong answers; we're testing the app, not you.
Your feedback will directly influence how we improve Sprout before it is launched to more schools
Who can apply?
We're looking for:
• Parents of learners currently attending schools working with Sprout by edufern
• Parents from the wider community
• Children in Foundation Phase (Grades R–3)
What will happen?
If selected, you and your child will attend one focus group session.
During the session, you will:
• Use the Sprout app together
• Complete a few simple activities
• Share your thoughts and opinions
• Tell us what worked well and what was confusing
Our team will observe how families naturally use the app to improve the experience.
Session Details

We plan to run three focus groups over three days.

Each group will include approximately four parent-child pairs.

Each participant only attends one session.
Proposed duration:
Approximately 3 hours
Proposed schedule:
9:00 – Welcome
9:20 – Introduction
9:30 – Independent use of Sprout
10:30 – Tea break
10:45 – Guided activities
11:30 – Discussion
12:00 – Finish
Payment
Each participating parent or guardian will receive R380 as a thank-you for their time.
We will only be able to make payments via EFT only.
No cash payments will be made. Our team will observe how families naturally use the app to improve the experience.

We'll provide everything else.
How are participants selected?
Because spaces are limited, completing this form does not automatically guarantee a place.
We'll review all applications and contact successful applicants to make arrangements.
